Blowing your own trumpet

Praise the LORD!!!

Good morning and I can see from the fact that you're reading this, that GOD has blessed you with another day :{)))
Those of you that follow me through my many post, know that I currently homeless and working but part time while living out of a friends garage. Yesterday was one of the days I was blessed to work, the first in three weeks. After receiving our checks the boss proceeded to run the three of us home.

At the first drop off, the boss pipes in about my co-worker(the one getting out) not having any gas service due to the need to repair the lines and "what would it cost to repair." After a short conversation the statement was made "that I'll help get this done, at the beginning of the week and we'll make arrangements on paying it back." Now I want you to keep in mind that my boss is a "Christian."

As we continued on the boss began asking my other co-worker about the fact that he too was without gas service and that they too could make the arrangements to remedy this problem. The conversation then turned, not to my homelessness(as you might think), but to his(the boss) having helped another, by loaning him some money to fix his car and never having received repayment or the man's car getting fixed.

Now it is when the conversation turned my way. Not in an offer of any sort, but as to the conditions in which I'm living and how they could be so much worse. Now this went on for about the next five minutes and never once came to an offer of any kind, so as I was getting out of the truck I asked if he had $20 I could borrow until my check cleared(3 business days). He only had ten on him and I accepted it and told him that I remind him of it. This because of the fact, that my little check was basically already spent on bills that would be covered by the bank.

Here is the point of this all. It is scripturally improper for a Christian to blow the trumpets when doing their works for the LORD!!! For in doing so, it is here that they'll receive their rewards and it likens them unto the pagans, that give only to receive back in return. We see and hear from all sorts of secular charity groups of the "good works" that they do and usually this is attached to another plea for money. Christians are supposed to give freely, because it was it this very manor in which our LORD gave and we are to reflected HIS image within and through our lives!!!

Has the BODY become so like the world, that it has to be glorified by the works that it does in love??? Do Christians give, only so they can receive back in likeness or greater??? As you know I've the ministry and it pains me to think that so many "CHRIST-like" people won't donate(and haven't in 12+ yrs.) because the ministry isn't 501.3.c rated and they'll not receive a tax credit!!! I've come to the decision that the ministry will never be rated in this manor, for IT will not succumb to government regulations as to "what we can say" or "against what we can stand against(sins rampant in society today.) As a Christian, I see it as my duty to abide by the LORD's teachings over any that government or any group wants to condone!!! Sure I've told of some of the things done over the years, but these weren't in depth stories or videos focused on getting your donations. They were done to let others see what it is that the ministry does and that alone. Many know that I don't even desire "thanks" for those things that I do, for I see it as having received my rewards already and here is not where I seek to do so.

My questions to you at this time are, "Where do you want your "rewards" to be given???" and "Just "who" is it that you seek to glorify, self or GOD???" This isn't meant to blow any trumpets, but to silence those of the BODY!!!

No One Knows...

 Praise the LORD!!!

No one knows my life better than I do. Which is a statement all of us can make, for it is the spirit within each of us that truly knows us, even better than the conscious self, soul, knows us.

If I were to tell you, which I have stated this before, that I'm TOTALLY sold out to GOD, you may doubt the truth of this matter. I'm going to reveal here some of the facts that will back this statement up. Not just matters of words and speech, but physical matters as well.

As you should know, since you're reading this, that I've been working on developing the LORD's ministry for me, for over twelve years now, totally alone(accept the LORD.) All of the money that has gone into it's formation and works has come from out of my own pockets. There have been donations along the lines of items deemed for donation to others, but until very recently none had donated time, efforts or funding to it. All that has been accomplished, from Springfield MO., to Kingsville, TX. have been by my hands alone. Not one has ever stepped up and said they would want to join in on this Herculean effort, and that is exactly what it is!!! A ministry that is even beyond my total comprehension, for that which I was shown of it in visions in '97' literally blows my mind!!!

I've given up a house(2/3 paid for), my family(wayward wife and sons) and anything one might consider a normal lifestyle, to stretch every cent as far as possible to continue on in my 'carrying of this cross' for the LORD!!!

After leaving behind everything in Springfield, MO., with plans to go on a missions trip to Haiti(which was cancelled(kidnappings in Haiti of missionaries), I rode out the right front quad of hurricane Rita in '05'. This is when the , central focus of, ministry's disaster relief branch came to full life. For the next several years, I reeked out a living and stretched every penny I could into helping those in which the storms of '05' had overturned their lives. Constantly witnessing to the life changing abilities of the LORD, in overcoming adversity. This ended up leading me to Florida, living with my sister and her husband, only hours before my mother went home to be with the LORD. For the next year and a half, I was totally separated from most of the works associated with direct connections to the ministry. Though I was still able to witness constantly and help others(with my hands) to improve their lives.

This is when I received the leading, to totally step out of the boat. The trip to Texas, on foot, was begun. Here again, I left everything behind, including thousands of dollars worth of tools, cookware and other ministry related items. Since my arrival in Texas, every detail of my life has been in the LORD's hands. Everything I have to my name, are either donated items(from local Christians), or those I've managed to gather up thru the works of my hands(working for several local apartment complexes, or helping residence of the area.) If anyone in need were to ask me for any  of these items, I'd gladly give them. Even if someone were to want to steal them, they could have them also. For what actually are all these things, except blessings from the LORD!?! If stolen or given freely, the LORD would replace them as they are, or upgrading them to even better:)))

Over the last two months or so, the LORD has truly blessed me with have the first ever donations, actually given forth for the ministry. At this time, I've received just under a thousand dollars worth of items, a computer and monitor and the money to upgrade this to a more proficient system to accomplish the works needed. You can believe me, I am praising the LORD for them:)))

Though all this this I consider as nothing, for my walk, in personal relationship, with the LORD is all important. Though this grows daily, I've become tired, tired not of relationship with HIM, but in the efforts to carry this cross daily. HE has promised that HE will be assisting me in this effort and HE does, but the task ahead is great and so far the laborers few, one!!! If others don't begin taking this matter in prayer before the LORD and listening, being obedient and following HIS leading it will not disappear, but remain only as it has been, the works of a single man.

As I said, "No one knows" this life I walk daily, no one knows the weight of this cross that I so willingly carry and no one knows these burdens that weight so heavily upon my heart for the lost and needy of this world. No one will continue to know these, until others are willing to step out of the boat(that life they think is severing the LORD) and truly step on board this Herculean effort to glorify the LORD like no other generation has ever sought to do. If you think this may be what the LORD is leading to, pray and listen for HIS answer, then get up and step out onto stormy waters, knowing JESUS will carry you onward !!!!!!!

*** any and all information about the ministry can be found on the website (and yes, I know it's not the best of sites(I'm not a web designer either:))) )) I can use every sort of help there is known to man and the LORD!!! Don't ask me if the help is needed, if led, just do it. I trust the LORD and know HE will make all things work together for the good of those that love GOD and are called according to HIS purpose:))) Is this HIS purpose for you, if you believe so what are you waiting for, just step out and DO IT:)))))))

4.16.10_James 2:15,16_Outreach

  Praise the LORD!!!

     James 2:15,16

15 "If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,  16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?" (KJV)

Though this installment came about in a differing way then usual, it is one that I've learned to follow. Many times while I'm doing something, I'll have something deeply impressed upon my being. Whether by a vocal source, vision, or just an impression, there is no mistaking their source, for it is of GOD and bears directly upon scripture as a source and fulfillment. I was going about searching for information pertaining to a job I'm arranging for the ministry and during this was led to go to my Bible program. I then typed in what I was lead to and this verse came up and the LORD began to expound it to me. So as usual, you'll be getting the results of the LORD's leading and teaching me or whatever HE plans for it.

Many times when we do works for the LORD, we'll be taking care of other people's lives in some manor. We'll be assisting them in some way, shape or form to better their lives and hopefully draw them closer to the LORD in the end. Our preforming works as a witness to the love of the LORD for others is basically what most call 'outreach.' The going outside of ourselves or our churches and reaching other people. Thus the familiar word, to most Christians that is, of outreach. Though this was termed under the heading of hospitality in earlier eras. The taking care of others, for the direct purpose of bringing them into a saving knowledge of CHRIST and HIS love for them. Or even before CHRIST, hospitality was a very central aspect of the Hebrew lifestyle and a major way of showing GOD's love for mankind to all others, even those outside of their religion.

We all know, or we should, that as Christians it is our job to reach out to all those around us and provide a helping hand when needed! We see this happening whenever there is a major disaster or emergency anywhere around the world. Just as with the earthquakes in Haiti and Chile as of the last several months. There would of been a major outcry if people would of mentioned the fact that they had prayed for these people and that was all that was needed, for GOD would take care of the rest of their problems. You can bet that if something like this had been done by any nation, religious group, or non profit, that there would be a media blitz that would of buried them. Any group that would of done something like this would cease to exist.

But there is a major problem in this world of ours. That is the fact that if it isn't a major news worthy topic, such as these earthquakes, and doesn't break headline news, this practice would be accepted and basically go unnoticed by almost everyone. Now notice, I said almost here and this is the biggest problem for those that want to practice this method. GOD has seen it and I can pretty well say that HE'd not be to happy with those doing such! Most people would agree with this. It is something that is totally outside of the Christian realm of operations, well, at least is supposed to be. This is the problem and it seems to be a major one at that, or I don't think I'd be writing about it in the first place!

How many times have any of us heard of a tragic event and told the person that we would pray for them over the matter. Now how many times did we pray and then leave it at that? This is where the problem is. Too often, when we can do something, even if it's to the slightest degree, we don't. We pray and place the matter in the LORD's hands and that is that, when there is so much more that we can do about it. Now I said "so much more" and in a way even doing the littlest amount that we can, is "much" more then just putting our prayers into action. It seems like the Christian world has become complacent to be but prayer warriors on their knees and not warriors with hands that get a little dirty now and then. I hate to tell of all the times that while I was on the gulf coast, that I saw Christian groups start out with prayer, which is a must, do a little work and then pack up and leave. I've seen Christians standing by and watch, as another man strain and struggle with something, while they're a distance off just watching it. Never going over to assist.

Now I myself have been witness to this firsthand, myself being the straining man. When I first started the ministry, I sent out pleas for assistance of any kind, and yes this is still happening, and I only had one ministry respond by any way other then that of offering their prayers. Now, I'm going to tell you that I didn't plan on this getting to this point, but the LORD wants it uncovered. Like with my first walk from Ohio to Texas and the results of it, so to this continues to this day. I've had people say they're going to assist the ministry, yet nothings been done to date. I've had thousands of prayers sent heaven ward, yet not one person has listened to that still quiet voice inside and put motion into action! I can accept this, I really don't care if the ministry ever does anything greater then the works of my own hands. Because I know that I'm doing as led by the LORD, I'm being obedient and this means that I'm in right standings with GOD! If all this ministry ever does, is show that the faith of others is weak and worthless to the LORD, so be it, because this will of been HIS will for it. But I can't imagine HIM doing this though, but anything is possible with GOD, I've come to find this out. GOD has invested hundreds of miracles in my life and to use them all to show that which is lacking within the hearts of so many, doesn't seem feasible to me. GOD usually doesn't expend that much time in a person to use them only to minor purposes. All I can say though is, "may HIS will be done, on earth as it is in heaven!!!"

4.01.10_1 John 3:16,17_Christian love

PTL!!! Much may be said about this following post and I'm not the least concerned. It was written three days ago and I've been at turmoil with the LORD over publishing it. Here it is, so you know who won! I just pray those that read it are ready for it! May all be according to THY will and not mine LORD!!!

 Praise the LORD!!!

Much thought should be put into today's reading, for it is one of major importance and one, I'm sad to say, least practiced. I know there will be many that say they don't fall into this group that I'm talking about, but truly I think we all need to think again. Not just a topical thinking either, I'm talking about a deep down HOLY SPIRIT involved 'heart' searching!

  1 John 3:16,17

16 "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.  17 If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?"

Many Christians believe they show love heavily within their lives. They say they are always showing others that they love and care about them. Now this may be true with some, but truthfully, not for the majority. That is why I made the statement that "I was sad to say..." Truthfully I am, because so many that say they truly show love for their fellow man, really only show it to those they know well. When it comes to someone that they don't know very well, or worst yet, a total stranger, the percentage drops off drastically.

Now many of you that follow me know of the trip I made last year down here to Texas. The one where I was walking, with all intents to walk the whole distance if need be. If you've not heard this story, you can find it in my other blog, "Blogs from the Vine." There are also plenty of comments at the ministry website as to this trip also, so there is no lack of information for one to find, if they want. This though isn't the purpose of this article and I'll proceed to it. In the past several months I've been experiencing some rough times with the current computer system I have to work with. I've made plenty of statements as to the facts about my intents for the ministry and all the future plans for it. I've made no attempt to keep anything a secret. From my past to my present, every fact has been laid out for all to see, but without going into too graphic of detail. You know I am a Christian and there are limits on that which I will say or even write about, this in the ideal of keeping it as decent as possible and still being able to get the message across.

I've made plenty of references to the needs of the ministry and myself. Though not directly making the statement that I need your financial assistance or something along those lines. I've always said, since the inception of this ministry to the public eyes, that I'd not be like the rest, and be constantly talking about your sending the ministry money and I haven't to date. Though I have made a few appeals to people indirectly, that there are growing needs for the ministry and they need to be met. I kind of thought that people would listen to the LORD when HE stirred their heart strings to help us out, but it surely doesn't look like it. To date, I've received not one red cent and not a single item has even been donated, either. Though I have had a few that made the statement that they would, but nothing yet has ever arrived.

The apostle John, the apostle that JESUS loved, in our verses points out the degree which Christians are to love others. These, not even those of the Christian family (all believers), but total strangers. We're to be willing to go to the point of laying our life down for them, just as JESUS did for us! Now I'm not sure why there is this seemingly big gulf between what we're supposed to do and that which we do. But it is plain to see that there is a big problem within the church today. There are too many Christians that say they act out the love of CHRIST within their lives, but there sure seems to be very few out there on the frontlines fighting the battles against hunger, homelessness, even preaching the GOSPEL to the lost. Why is it that you're more likely to see Jehovah Witness' out preaching door to door then you are mainstream Christian?

Why is it that the secular groups like the Red Cross were the first to get out word about the earthquake in Haiti and their need for donations to help these people and they got it, billions of dollars were donated. Now I don't know if you know the past history of these groups, but more of their money goes to operational expenses then actually goes afield to help those in need! Now I know there will be those that disagree with these statements, which there always are, because so many believe that which they hear on the TV or in the newspaper, the propaganda shall we say. Well I've done research on a lot of these big groups, and their figures don't quite match up with that which is posted, and the reports from the field, from those people that were supposed to be receiving the help, even worse. So how is it then, that other groups that promise to change these practices within their operations, never see no where near what these others receive? All the figures and facts can be found on the internet if one is willing to spend a good bit of time doing a lot of searching. I spent nearly two months checking out about a half dozen groups and ministries, using information from the top charity reporting groups, right down to people that lived in the actual areas where disasters had taken place. This is the major reason VCM is being led to be totally different.

For too long, to many organizations have operated under the pretense of loving their fellow man. When in all rights they only love filling their own pockets with the proceeds of their fundraisers. Some of these groups operate under the associations of being "Christian" and seeking to spread the GOSPEL through their efforts. Yet when viewed carefully, from varying directions, it can be found that the money they take in goes in other directions from that intended or even reported as going. Yes, there are "Christian" groups lying about where their funding goes and using it to enlarge other areas of their ministries. I'll not mention names, but please know, I regret having to make that kind of statement. No because of being called judgmental, because I'm not, but because of the fact that it is true and these Christians will have to stand before the LORD someday and explain why this was!

VCM and VMNI will operate with all our accounts open for all to see. There will be more internal pressure to keep these ministries transparent, then there will be outside. The main reason being, we represent CHRIST first and foremost, and everything we do or are associated with is meant to bring glory to HIS name and not one bit of shame. I've made a few statements here in recent times that may be misconstrued as judgmental, believe me they're not meant to be, but they are meant to open people's eyes to the truth. The truth is a double edged sword and cuts both ways, if not handled properly. I've been through enough suffering in my time with the LORD to provide several people with more then they'd like and I'm sure I'll witness much more before I join HIM. But it is time that the CHURCH of JESUS CHRIST wake up and smell the stench that is within it and begin to make the changes necessary to bring it into alignment with the WORD of GOD. Not just superficial changes either, but one's that will open it up to stand spotless before the LORD. Ones that will enable all that walk into their building to know that they will be counted as worthy of our LORD's fellowship and able to hear the "well done, my good and faithful servant," when they stand before HIM soon!!!

Use these verses, but don't stop with them, cross reference and seek out GOD from within HIS WORD!!!

3.19.10_Acts 20:24_LIfe/Nothing

Praise the LORD!!!

Having a bit of a hard go of it today. Though I've been blessed to get the computer back up and walking(as opposed to running), this is my third day completely sans tobacco. That's right, I'm in the process of quitting smoking and 'cold turkey'!!! I went outside today like I normally would, but to just walk around, and I was pondering GOD and my/our relationship with HIM. That is when this verse came to me and that which followed on the verse.

   Acts 20:24

"However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace."

Prior to this verse Paul is talking to the Ephesian saints, before his departure from them. He is telling them that the HOLY SPIRIT has warned him, of that which is to come and that things really aren't looking like he'll be coming back to visit them again! There is a lot that can be brought forth through this one verse, but right off, I was led to go deeper on the first part of it alone, "However, I consider my life worth nothing to me..."

In this day and age where everyone is seeking to gain importance for themselves, this is a practice that wouldn't be often thought of. For it lies in direct resistance to the normal way of doing things. You may be wondering "what is he talking about?" At first, when you look at this verse, it sounds like something along the lines of  which a person that is depressed would say. Or maybe that of a back slid-en Christian, complaining about their uselessness to GOD.

Neither of these are what the LORD has shown me today and I believe it'll surprise you, it did me! You are witnessing, from a man that truly had plenty to brag about within his life, total humility. That's right, Paul right here, is saying that with all his great accomplishments for the faith of Christianity, none of them holds any favor for him. Everything he's done has been useless in his own eyes. I can see this scene taking place. Paul surrounded by a group of believers and them all bringing out all these great things that Paul's done across the area, and Paul telling them no, to each great work they bring forth testimony about. After a while they all probably stopped bringing examples up and began wondering what truly did Paul believe was worthy of noting.

I believe there is but one thing here and throughout all of Paul's life, that he considered worthy of making note of. Any idea what a truly humble Christian would hold so dear and cherished, that all else would be counted as lose? You may think it is that which is written in the rest of the verse. We could say yes and no to this, because in part the answer is there, yet in part it isn't! Though Paul eludes to completing that which the LORD had given him to do. What is there, that is the rest of the story? For yes, we are to go forth and spread the GOSPEL, no doubt in my heart about this fact. But what Paul has told us in many places out rightly and in others hinted at graphically. Our true callings as Christians,is but to seek out relationship with JESUS, first and foremost, and this alone, is the greatest task set before us to fulfill. For without our knowing the LORD better then anything else in our lives, we're incomplete. How can we preach the GOSPEL if we're not intimate with the central character in it?

What is it in your life that holds center stage? Is it your job? Your family? Your ministry for the LORD? Your church and the people within it? Truly none of these, though all are worthy subjects to seek after doing your best with, none are even pail in comparison with what your personal relationship with JESUS should be. A long time ago in my early years as a Christian, someone gave me this little statement to remember. "That to know someone well, we have to spend a good deal of time with them. You wouldn't expect to know your child well, if you but spent ten minutes a day with them or less would you?" The same is true with our relationship with the LORD. If we don't spend time reading the Bible, in prayer, meditation on the WORD and quiet time with HIM how will we know HIM?

Reading our Bible is our first line of communication with GOD. Here, HE can speak to us through HIS WORD, and there is nothing about GOD that we can't find out within it's pages. But it does take time spent there and it must be done in the proper ways also. You can't just speed read or breeze through it. You must pray and ask HIM to lead you in your goal to find wisdom and understanding about HIM through it and you must treat it as respectfully as possible.

Prayer is our second line of communication with HIM. For this is where we seek to tell HIM more about our understanding of HIM and about those things in life that we need HIS help with. Too many of us use our prayers for but one thing and that is to ask for things, and though this is one of the things that prayer is to be used for, it is far from the only thing. Prayer is supposed to be a time of relating with GOD and not just one of  formalities and form. Get loose, relax, the LORD is our friend as well as our GOD and we can talk with HIM just as if HE were our earthly father. Respectfully, but openly!

Meditation on the WORD, is not the mantra quoting type of meditation. In this, we lay hold of a verse or small section of the WORD and go over it within our minds, praying on it and asking GOD to open up our understanding to the deeper meanings of it. We all know that language isn't a simple and straight forward subject. One word can have numerous meanings alone, let alone if you group it together with others. GOD's WORD is even deeper then most all of our languages put together, for it is living and each time we read it, another meaning may just come out of it. You could say it's kind of relational, it relates to that which we're going through within our lives.

This next one may be new to you, But it is one that really began to change my relationship with the LORD! Quiet time, just what is quiet time? Just that, we are quiet before the LORD. So far in all that we've done we've done a large amount of talking and very little time letting GOD do it. In our fast paced world, of where almost everything can be obtained in a short time, we expect answers and fulfillment of everything in record time. I tell you something, GOD doesn't operate in this manor, though HE can preformed instant miracles, for the most part HE allows things to gradually happen, bringing all the parts into place and then moving upon them to effect change. We tend to expect replies here and now and instead of being quiet and waiting on GOD, we want to fill this time with words or thoughts of some kind. An this just defeats the purpose of being alone with GOD. This is possibly the hardest to undertake, because not many people can completely quiet their mind. I've really yet to be able to quiet it completely, so I seek after looking into the eyes of JESUS. I envision looking into HIS eyes, eyes where there is so much peace and love within, that it is truly hard to comprehend. As stated this is most likely the hardest practice to undertake, it is completely against our nature, to be still and listen. It is also perhaps the most gratifying, for it allows GOD to directly impress HIS will for you before your eyes and it is here that we each must chose. So what will it be that you seek after today? Will it be to grow your testimony for the LORD? Will it be to draw your family closer to the LORD? Or will it be to allow the LORD to draw closer to you and sit quietly in relationship with HIM,  listening to that which HE has for you and you alone?

Other verses to ponder: Romans 8:31-39; Philip. 1:19-26; Philemon 17-26
Use these verses, but don't stop with them, cross reference and seek out GOD from within HIS WORD!!!
