Being sent

Praise the LORD!!!
 
   It's been quite some time since I last published a blog, but the LORD has HIS reasons and I doubt them not!!! The "why," is not of my concern, it is that I remain attuned to HIS voice within my life and remain obedient, that is!!!

   Let us take a bit of a trip here, a trip in time. Two time periods, that is :{)))

  First: "“Don’t take the road leading to other nations, ... go to the lost sheep  of the house of Israel." "

   The time here, is early on in JESUS' ministry, where HE first sends out the disciples(12) to begin revealing the KINGDOM news to people. Gracing them with a long list of commands and the power to fulfill all that they've been called too.

   The second period in time we shall talk about, is that where I was led to leave Ohio and walk to Kingsville, TX. I wasn't given a long list of that which I was or wasn't to do, but these came as time went by, as I was preparing to enter into events. (Most likely such short notice, because of my quick response when following HIS leadings, I've learned not to question the simple, but only the extreme leadings. :{))) )

      In our first period, we've commands as to what they're to take with them: "Don’t take along gold, silver, or copper for your money-belts. Don’t take a traveling bag for the road, or an extra shirt, sandals, or a walking stick,..."

   Whereas on the first trip(attempted one), I carried a good sum of money($600) and belongings(90 lbs. worth) and was accompanied by my year old wolf/shepherd pup(untrained for this type of task.) As I was walking, I was in prayer and deep conversation with the LORD. Listening for HIS leadings and taking in all that HE laid upon my heart(and there was a lot :{))) ) Much of these(prayers) had to do with my undertakings for HIM. Where I was to stop and rest(or eat(whatever)), who and what I was too converse with people about and any other interactions along the way.

   The "route" wouldn't be a direct one, but one off the beaten path you may say. Going from Utopia, OH., east to the ferry crossing at Augusta, KY. and then beginning a southerly direction on county and minor state roads. It was here that I had my first two interactions with the BODY, one good and the other not so.
   The first, was on Easter morning, after having a personal "sunrise" service and having walked a pretty good distance. I'd stopped for a rest on a cement wall along the roadside and it just so happened to be across the street from a little non denominational church. I was getting ready to head on, when I heard someone yelling at me. It was the minister and he was inviting my dog and I over for Easter breakfast. Yes, my dog was invited into the church along with me :{))). After a very good "feeding" and plenty of awesome conversation, we were also invited to stay for another service, one of mostly praise and worship. At the end of this service, we were greeted by many of the church members and handed sums of money for the trip. Heading onward with an additional $250 and scores of promised prayers!!!

   As usual, when the LORD has blessed, satan too will raise his head. Over the next ten miles or so we covered a large area that was under construction, having the roadsides torn up and covered with four or five inch rocks, very unstable walking. Marianne's feet took a beating, so bad so, that things were looking pretty bad as to continuing the trip. That was, until the LORD provided !!! A young couple returning home after an Easter dinner with family met up with me. I thought this was but a short meeting, because they'd stopped for gas at the closed store I'd been resting up at. But, they returned after getting gas at another station and proceeded to drive us to a "boat ramp" another ten miles on along the route. Praise the LORD, both now and then, for I knew the LORD was a work here :{)))

   After several days here, allowing time for Marianne's feet to heal and having met many a person, severe weather set in. We had no tent or rain gear, only trashbags for temporary shelter. Needless to say, I was soaked, cold and miserable, but the LORD had bigger plans. It was now that one of the people I'd met blessed us well. They had a house sitting empty, with the utilities on, in which we could stay until the proper time came. It wasn't but a 100 yards away, on the other side of the river and about a hundred feet from a non-denom church. These people ended up putting us up for about a month. Supplying all of our needs, shelter, electricity, water and food, so much so I had to ask it they'd back off a bit and let me take care of some !!! True Christian hospitality !!!

   As for the church, so close, yet so far(from the LORD's ways): I went to a service one Sunday, talked with the minister about his sermon and really expected more to come from this. Oh was I wrong. This church was about as "dry" of the HOLY SPIRIT as Death Valley is of water!!! I watched people gather here numerous times, weekends and weekdays, and not once did anyone ever even acknowledge me when driving by, let alone invite me over to join in!!! I was beginning to see two very different sides to the church, one that I loved and another, that was in great need of heavy prayers.(which they got!!!)

   The rest of the trip was pretty much uneventful, unless you consider walking a week with three broken toes and having your knee blowout on a Sunday morning events :{))). But it was the LORD's leading and teaching that took place for the most part. I met those of a "Messianic movement," which assisted me and had seeds of truth planted. Those whom went to church regularly and weren't happy with it. An those Christians that refrained from going to church because they didn't feel that the "houses" they attended, were anything like those the LORD would endorse. Believe me when I say "my eyes and ears were open" and "the LORD was teaching me a great many lessons!!!" and yes folks, many, many seeds were planted :{)))

How long...

 Praise the LORD!!!

   "Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me," (John 14:9; AV)

   Yesterday, I was asked about one of the post I had made and what scripture references I could use to back it. The post: "A Thought for such a time as this:
   A Christian should not settle with a level of production(for the LORD) that is the same as yesterday!!!" 

   At the time that I gave  answer I was a bit distraught from having tried to monitor and post tornado warning to followers on this current system. As many of you know, well those that have followed the ministry for over a year or two would, this is part of the ministry's functions. Any way, back to the point of this blog   :{))) My answer was in two parts, because another stepped in asking, but here are both parts:
   "PTL!!! It is not GOD requires, wants or needs anything but our love, but as with any relationship lovers seek to provide the other with greater things from the heart as the relationship deepens. Would you give your wife/girlfriend a BMW one day and turn around and give them a gardening tool??? I think not. It may just be me, but as I grow closer to the LORD, I desire to do more for HIM, not because I have to, or because it will gain me one thing, but just because I love HIM !!!"

   "PTL!!! I consider my relationship with GOD above all others and seek to deepen it in every way. As with any relationship, a knowledge of the other is great, but if that is where we leave off, what do we really have other than knowledge, we've no experience. Any thriving relationship must have experiences that deepen it, that bring the two parties closer together. I've had many relationship and most were very one sided, due to my pride, The LORD has blessed me by removing this hindrance and now I willing to seek a depth in our relationship deeper than any every before. HE gave HIS all for me, shouldn't I be willing to do the same in return, not being satisfied with the results of yesterday, but seeking to make today even better??? Scripturally, you'll not find this depth of relationship mentioned, to the best of my knowledge, but I'm sure it was in the hearts of many of those that have died for CHRIST while smiling at their tormentors and singing praises unto GOD!!! "

   You can believe this was on my heart last night as I went to sleep and it was put to prayer. Now I can understand new believers in CHRIST having(needing) scripture "proof" to solidify their understandings, but supposedly seasoned, mature Christians!?! Have we been so long with JESUS, yet we fail to really know HIM??? To know those things we are to do. To know the manor in which we are to live our lives and reflect HIS image to others. 

   Now don't take me wrong here, I'm not judging these others involved here, but I'm being blessed to see the BODY as a whole here. We've lived our lives for years for CHRIST. We've supposedly read and read the Bible numerous times. Studied and studied for hours, taking in hour after hour worth of sermons and teaching tapes(disc) and books.  "And yet hast thou not known me,"

   I ask, but not I, but the LORD, is your knowledge of me only within your mind, or is it within your heart??? Do you really have a loving relationship with me, or is it but a knowledge of scripture??? I want your heart, as well as your mind and body. I want all of you!!! Are you willing to give it???

How far???

Praise the LORD!!!

   How far are you truly willing to go for the sake of the GOSPEL??? This is an important personal question we each must ask ourselves. Is our faith that which truly believes that "all things work together for the good of those that love GOD and are called according to HIS purpose" That our suffering "all things," would bring about the glory of GOD. That our refusing to take up arms(self defense means) to protect our own lives, would bring glory to the KINGDOM of GOD.

   Many today have a faith that says they can do that which is needed to preserve their own lives and still bring glory to GOD!!! But is this kind of faith truly that of GOD or is it a faith that has been formed by the means of man, for self preservation ???

   These are but a few "Questions" and/or statements that are meant to make you think. Make you think about the depth of your relationship with JESUS. To make you think about whether or not you're willing to make that supreme sacrifice and give your life for the sake of the GOSPEL !!! I see many a post and hear many a statement to this effect, but truly, when it comes down to it, how many are truly willing too!!! Think about it !!!!!!! Your sacrifice could be that which brings other believers into the fold. But the question is, "How far ???"

This man???

Praise the LORD!!!

    I pray all are well and in good spirits after this CHRISTmas weekend!!!

   Today's message will be about "This man." The one that is posting these comments to the greatest witnessing tool afford to mankind. Why, you may ask??? Simply because I'm led to :))) Why, fully I don't understand or even are to dig into, but have learned from many a year of 'see-sawing'(if you will). Say "what," you may be wondering, does this mean. Exactly this. A continuing going from what I believe to be the best actions within my life, to that which has been impressed upon my heart, thus to "see-saw."

   This man, as you may know(and if not, search out my testimonial book), was brought to the LORD by a complete breaking of his will, thru incarceration in the prison's of man. Totally broken to the point of absolute contrition. A crushing of my heart, that was needed, to separate the flesh, soul and spirit, into a properly ordered package. Not the package of the carnal man, but that of the spiritual man, that which has the spirit within in control and neither the flesh or soul.

   In the carnal man, the command controls are piloted by the flesh or soul, those parts of the 'tripartate' being we are. Being fully directed in our lives by either of these two, brings us into direct enmity with GOD. Seeking only those things in life that are pleasurable to the flesh and self pride, that separate us from a GODly lifestyle. We all should know the traits of these two, and if not, best get into a prayerful reading of scripture:)))

   The spiritual man though, is the one in which whose spirit has come into power, taking over the goals within our lives and turning them from self and towards GOD. A total transition from that which was and into that which GOD original planned for us to be. For this was that state of being Adam and Eve both shared in the Garden, before the fall. The will of only seeking that which was GOD's will for them. This is the state of "this man" to this day and one that is growing even stronger by the moment:)))

   Now this, the above, would make for a good day's devotional and study, but isn't that which is the purpose:))) For the purpose of this today, is the illumination of what my life truly was and is today. I'm what you could say is an example of a "1 Cor. 1:26-30 man."  A man that was dug up from the deepest depths of depravity, washed off(in the blood) and taught in ways, very uncommon for the times. Ways that haven't been instantaneous, but have taken over a decade and a half to bring about. I'm far from perfection, am nothing that can be bragged about and wouldn't if I could:))) For all that has been and will continue to be done upon this spirit, has been by the hand of GOD and it is HE alone that receives any and all of the glory.

   Though I was blessed at birth with a high intellect, through twenty six years of major drug abuse, I've burnt more brain cells than many even were blessed with. Though having read the whole Bible man a time, I've but few verses that I can consider as memorized. This again, in reflection of those 1 Cor. verses!!! Of those verses, there's not even one WORD alone, that I can not see GOD having fulfilled within me. For without HIM, I'm but worthy to adorn the sole of HIS sandals, fitting to scraped off at the first opportune moment!!!

   Unlike most of you, though knowing all my responsibilities, bills and what nots that consume much of our energies, I'm not concerned in the least about them and will only take care of them when the time(HIS time) comes and I'm directed to do so. I take each moment of my day as led and only as led!!!!!!! The past, is forgotten, tomorrow, is not my concern, but for this moment I was created and is HIS will for me to strive and complete as led.

   This is there which I'm led to leave you this day, the why's and what for's are not in my hand to bring about. I've planted the seeds that were meant to be planted and it is from here, that the LORD takes over:))) Have a blessed and prosperous day as the LORD has set forth for you. Share this, keep it and bind it to study, whatever you are led to. For nothing is in my control, for I've released those reigns and have given them over to the only one truly able to bring about HIS most sovereign will for mankind !!!

At one time...

 Praise the LORD!!!

    At one time, while I was still in the prison of man(having been set free by the LORD), someone told me that I was "too heavenly minded, to be of any earthly good." Now, I'm sure most of you have heard this little statement used at sometime or another, if not maybe you should ponder it for a few minutes(?) I, more or less scoffed at the statement, at that time, not seeing that this is a possible state within Christian's lives. Not mine though(thank GOD), for I've been blessed to be well grounded in the LORD and seek not my own will, but HIS for me!!!

   But, this state is possible within the lives of many and I will reveal cases of such here. You'll most likely be aware of those that are in this state and we must open their eyes to the truth in this matter!!! Anyone, that pays any attention to the events of the world, should have a general knowledge of this happening. For many times on the news and in other forms of media, we hear of many "miracles" being witnessed by the masses. Some of these are true miracles and many are not, for the adversary can and does use the "miraculous" to turn our eyes from the true glory of GOD and HIS purposes for us in life. These can be classed easily enough, as those that draw attention only towards and object(idol), person or place. Like the many "images" of JESUS or the Virgin Mary being found in or on many items. I don't think I need to list the many, that fit in this group.

   What do these have to do with "being heavenly minded," a great deal. For they draw our attentions away from that which we are to be doing, to bring glory to the LORD, and towards something else. The greatest miracle of all, is one many simply overlook, this is the conversion(true) of an unbeliever. For it is a direct revelation of GOD working within a person's life. The preparation of the person's heart to receive the seed of the GOSPEL. The moving of GOD upon the saint, which plants this seed and then HIS watering of it and producing a baby saint!!! A true MIRACLE by the hand of GOD!!!!!!!

   Perhaps the the greatest case of  "being heavenly minded" is one most would tend to overlook. Why??? Because people believe, due to errors in teaching and the pride of man, that it is GOD's will for us. Which it is, but not in the extent that people are concentrating upon it though and this has opened the door for satan to use, to draw people's attention away from the actual will of GOD. Let me first then, state that which is the will of GOD for us, which is truly simple, but often made complex by men wanting to do so. These are clearly stated in scripture, in the two great commandments(Matt. 22:37-40), in our loving our brothers and sisters in the faith (John 15:12), that we provide for the needs of others( Matt. 25:35,36; James 1:27) and(of coarse) to spread the GOSPEL(Matt. 28:18-20.) Sure there are a few other details in following the will of GOD in our lives, but these are an ample foundation to work from.

   Now, for the major purpose of this article, the being "too heavenly minded." There are many today in the church that are seeking after "signs and wonders." Spending all their energy and effort on seeking after these and setting aside those things that the LORD wills for us to actually accomplish for HIM while here on earth. It is not in the seeking of these that the error occurs, but it is in the forsaking of all else set before us, to seek them.(John 4:48)

   I could go forth from this, but am led to leave you with this alone. Are you seeking after all the pomp and circumstance of signs and wonders??? Or are you seeking to bring glory to the KINGDOM of GOD thru the love JESUS has poured forth for you??? Focusing only on the power of heaven in your life, is keeping you "heavenly minded" and your hands away from the true works GOD has set them about !!! Which shall it be???

Use these verses, but don't stop with them, cross reference and seek out GOD from within HIS WORD!!!

No One Knows...

 Praise the LORD!!!

     No one knows my life better than I do. Which is a statement all of us can make, for it is the spirit within each of us that truly knows us, even better than the conscious self, soul, knows us.

   If I were to tell you, which I have stated this before, that I'm TOTALLY sold out to GOD, you may doubt the truth of this matter. I'm going to reveal here some of the facts that will back this statement up. Not just matters of words and speech, but physical matters as well.

   As you should know, since you're reading this, that I've been working on developing the LORD's ministry for me, for over twelve years now, totally alone(accept the LORD.) All of the money that has gone into it's formation and works has come from out of my own pockets. There have been donations along the lines of items deemed for donation to others, but until very recently none had donated time, efforts or funding to it. All that has been accomplished, from Springfield MO., to Kingsville, TX. have been by my hands alone. Not one has ever stepped up and said they would want to join in on this Herculean effort, and that is exactly what it is!!! A ministry that is even beyond my total comprehension, for that which I was shown of it in visions in '97' literally blows my mind!!!

   I've given up a house(2/3 paid for), my family(wayward wife and sons) and anything one might consider a normal lifestyle, to stretch every cent as far as possible to continue on in my 'carrying of this cross' for the LORD!!!

   After leaving behind everything in Springfield, MO., with plans to go on a missions trip to Haiti(which was cancelled(kidnappings in Haiti of missionaries), I rode out the right front quad of hurricane Rita in '05'. This is when the , central focus of, ministry's disaster relief branch came to full life. For the next several years, I reeked out a living and stretched every penny I could into helping those in which the storms of '05' had overturned their lives. Constantly witnessing to the life changing abilities of the LORD, in overcoming adversity. This ended up leading me to Florida, living with my sister and her husband, only hours before my mother went home to be with the LORD. For the next year and a half, I was totally separated from most of the works associated with direct connections to the ministry. Though I was still able to witness constantly and help others(with my hands) to improve their lives.

   This is when I received the leading, to totally step out of the boat. The trip to Texas, on foot, was begun. Here again, I left everything behind, including thousands of dollars worth of tools, cookware and other ministry related items. Since my arrival in Texas, every detail of my life has been in the LORD's hands. Everything I have to my name, are either donated items(from local Christians), or those I've managed to gather up thru the works of my hands(working for several local apartment complexes, or helping residence of the area.) If anyone in need were to ask me for any  of these items, I'd gladly give them. Even if someone were to want to steal them, they could have them also. For what actually are all these things, except blessings from the LORD!?! If stolen or given freely, the LORD would replace them as they are, or upgrading them to even better:)))

   Over the last two months or so, the LORD has truly blessed me with have the first ever donations, actually given forth for the ministry. At this time, I've received just under a thousand dollars worth of items, a computer and monitor and the money to upgrade this to a more proficient system to accomplish the works needed. You can believe me, I am praising the LORD for them:)))

   Though all this this I consider as nothing, for my walk, in personal relationship, with the LORD is all important. Though this grows daily, I've become tired, tired not of relationship with HIM, but in the efforts to carry this cross daily. HE has promised that HE will be assisting me in this effort and HE does, but the task ahead is great and so far the laborers few, one!!! If others don't begin taking this matter in prayer before the LORD and listening, being obedient and following HIS leading it will not disappear, but remain only as it has been, the works of a single man.

   As I said, "No one knows" this life I walk daily, no one knows the weight of this cross that I so willingly carry and no one knows these burdens that weight so heavily upon my heart for the lost and needy of this world. No one will continue to know these, until others are willing to step out of the boat(that life they think is severing the LORD) and truly step on board this Herculean effort to glorify the LORD like no other generation has ever sought to do. If you think this may be what the LORD is leading to, pray and listen for HIS answer, then get up and step out onto stormy waters, knowing JESUS will carry you onward !!!!!!!

??? FOCUS ???

 Praise the LORD!!!
   Good morning, and being that you're reading this, GOD has blessed you with another day of life. Something to be greatly thankful for and that which is often overlooked by many, if not most whom call themselves Christians.

   If you've not noticed, I'm the one that opens every single comment or article I make, with a PTL!!! This due to several reasons: 1. the fact that I was born with a bad heart and for twelve years, planned for open heart surgery; 2. Though I'd known GOD was real and very prevalent within my life, had run from HIM for the most part and it was thru a book on praising GOD at all times, that HE used to bring me to living a totally changed life in JESUS. In a way, this isn't that which this is about, then again, it is:)))

   Focus, what is it? Why is it important within our lives? Plus, why is the center of our focus, the most important part, especially for the Christian???

   FOCUS, is, loosely, according to Webster's Dictionary, is the point at which our attentions are concentrated upon. Or we could say, that upon which our lives are centered upon. For the Christian, this is to be JESUS/GOD!!!

   FOCUS, why is this of importance??? The intents of one's life, that which they focus their total being upon, is that which after all is said and done, describes a person and all that they do within life. Again, for the Christian, this is of a tantamount importance and it is TO BE GOD that holds this position within our lives!!!

   FOCUS, the intents and purpose, our focus, is that which guides all that we do, or seek to do in this brief existence we call life. If our focus is upon ourselves, it is ourselves that receives all the glory in the end. We see this daily in the lives of many, scientist, sports star, movie stars and politicians to name but a few. For the Christian though, that which their lives "ARE" to be focused on, is to be GOD and HIS KINGDOM and not ourselves in any way, shape or form!!!

   FOCUS: much could be written upon this topic and maybe some day will be by me, but for this time, it isn't the LORD's intents for this article. HIS intent is, that we as Christians, those that bear HIS precious name as our profession of faith in HIM, should have but one focus. That of HIS will for our lives. Not just once or several times a week, but that of every single second of it that we're blessed with!!! So my friend, where is your focus???

Control and Worrys

 Praise the LORD!!!

   If you've been following my post online this AM, you'll know that I've the day off. With barely being able to meet my bills, this would seem to well up the emotions of worry and doubt. For me, I'm blessed not to have any degree of these. I've learned, through many a year of walking with the LORD, that there's truly no reason for them:)))

   As I stated in an earlier comment, this dependence upon the LORD has really been cemented in my spirit since beginning my first trip to Texas. Though I've suffered: three broken toes, and continued with the trip; sat on the roadside for six and a half hours with a blown out knee, before finally getting assistance; returned to the starting point to recoup and then having my funding depleted completely; thrown out of the place I was living with only $40 in my pocket, to carry on with the trip; lived, along the roadside, abandoned buildings and attached in every means the adversary could throw at me, I've still faith in the LORD that HE shall meet all of my needs:)))(Phil. 4:19)

   There was a time in my life, when I'd lie, cheat or steal in instances such as this, but that man is dead and buried long ago(thank YOU JESUS!!!) Now a days, I put the matter to prayer, sit and listen and then, do as led, or go on about my labors, knowing that the matter is in better hands then my own!!!(1 Peter 5:7)

   Truly this isn't a practice that happens over night, but one that takes numerous years to be cemented into our hearts. One sure way that this is accomplished, is our suffering through many a trial and tribulation. One's, that completely tax us to our very cores. Breaking that bond of self sufficiency and allowing a totally new bond to be formed. One that has not the slightest doubt, that in no matter what happens, the LORD is fully in control of the events and will surely carry us through them and over them.(Romans 8:28) Since January 7, 1995, the day I was blessed to wholeheartedly give my life to the LORD, I've been blessed to of gone through so many events like this, that there is no way possible to mention them all in a blog, it'd be a book:))) Yet, truly, I most likely couldn't recall all of them, there has been that many:)))

   The point is, if you've given your life wholeheartedly to JESUS, you've(supposedly) turned the reins of control over to HIM. Removing your hands from them and allowing HIM, to be the one that guides you through life and along that narrow pathway that leads to heaven. There are so many Christians today, that suffer daily, trying to control the direction in which their lives are going. That try to control all the means of their daily existence and do nothing but continually worry and fret over what will be next. Our tomorrows, if we're blessed with them, are completely in the LORD's hands. If we but relinquish our attempts to maneuver ourselves in the directions we think best, and allow the LORD to work HIS will within our lives, we'd find life so much more pleasurable. Those things we thought to be mountains, will turn into what they really are, but pebbles along the path. Those nooses, we've pulled so tightly around our necks, will appear as they truly are, the collars of our garments. So if you've given your life to JESUS, take your hands off the wheel and let JESUS truly be the driver!!! The trip will enjoyable, and a lot smoother:)))

05-05-10_Isaiah 40:31_Wait... ( re post)

Praise the LORD!!!
   This morning during my devotional time, the LORD led me to one point and one alone. This is seldom the fact, for most of the time HE will enlighten me on several lines from just one reading. this morning though only one thought kept being impressed upon my heart. Let us start with today's reading from the book of Isaiah.

Isaiah 40: 31
   "but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." (NIV)

   Now you may be wondering "what does this have to do with waiting on the LORD?" believe me, we shall get to it, just wait! In our world of 'fast food', microwaves, the internet and mobile communications we've become greatly accustom to instant gratification within our lives. No longer do we wait for very much of anything and when we have to, we quickly become impatient and sometimes even hostile. The act of hoping in the LORD isn't along these lines. It requires patience and sometimes great patience to say the least. Hoping in something, is the basis of faith. "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see."

   Here we have it again! We are certain of things we have not received as of yet. As before , we were hoping in the LORD and as of yet not receiving our renewed strength, but it was promised. Now, we all know that what GOD has promised, HE shall bring into being!!! It is just getting over that part of having to wait for that which we hope for. Many of us are having very difficult times right now, especially considering the current state of most economies. Many are stretched to what we think to be the utmost of our limits. It is very understandable to think this way, with the way things are going within our lives. What the LORD is saying here though, is that we must stand on what HE has said, as if it is already done for us. Not looking at all the signs of the world that things are not improving, but that GOD has already taken care of them all.

   Here are with that little word again, wait. We must of faith to truly worship GOD. We must have patience, for it is a fruit of the SPIRIT. We must worship GOD in spirit and not in the flesh for our worship to be received of GOD. Three very good points, that when put together, bring us into a right relationship with GOD and a much more enjoyable life. We must hope in that which GOD has promised to do for us, we must wait and be patient until it has happened and we must not look at the things of this world(the flesh), but we must see thing through our spirit as if all has already been accomplished. Remember GOD is SPIRIT and functions on the SPIRITual level of existence first, then and only then do these things happen in the physical realm, where we can actually put them to use within our lives.

   There is great strength and benefits awaiting us when we can petition GOD for our needs and then await the delivery of them in HIS timing and HIS opportunity. So please, learn to wait!!! For you just may find your strength renewed, being able to run and not growing weary and walking and not becoming faint or soaring on wings like an eagle!!!

"I truly don't know if anyone will make sense out of this, for like all the others it was written as it was impressed upon my heart. Many times GOD will lead me to a verse to cover an area I'm having personal difficulties in. Giving me HIS understand , to remedy the problem. Sometimes this will happen in the first hour after reading it and at others hours later, after working through a good bit of the day. But I always pray and ask for the LORD's leading before typing a single word and then continue to pray all the while as doing it. Many times I never have an idea of what has been entered, until given the sign that it is done. I would love to get comments from those of you that read these. I'd love to know how the LORD is using these to effect your lives, because I already know all that HE's been blessing me with since starting them."

3.26.10_Col. 3:12-17_Acts of a chosen people...

 Praise the LORD!!!

   There are many days where the LORD allows me to go through most of the day without garnering a verse for me, until later in the day. This seems to be one of those days, for I've worked through my network twice already and nothing has come to heart. I worry not though, for the LORD led me to understand, when the idea of a daily devotional was first laid on my heart, that there would always be something to post. Whether a re post or fresh writing, there would always be something to give readers to ponder!   

 Colossians 3:12-17

    12 "Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.  13 Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.  14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.  15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.  16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.  17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."

     A list of orders, you could say, for us to follow in our walks for the LORD. I said, "you could say," because for one there are few 'orders' or "commandments" for the new testament church. That is one thing that separates our faith, from religions. In religions you must follow these rules and regulations or find yourself outside of its body. In the Christian faith though, we are free from almost every form of "must do or don't do." Yes, we do have those things that CHRIST commanded us to do, as we follow HIM, but truly these are few and mostly simple in nature, so simple that a child can follow them( Mark 10:14,15). Something that is almost impossible for the followers of any religion to state. For  to properly follow religion, it normally takes years of study and formal training to accomplish them at even the lowest of levels.

   If we look at the first verse, verse 12, you can break these requirements up into two groups. One to practice towards others and one for our own benefits:
                         "clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness," ; " humility, gentleness and patience."
   
    We as Christians are called, now this is a commandment, to love our neighbor as ourselves( Matt. 22:39), This is why Paul places these two first. For this is how others will know we are JESUS' disciples(John 13:35), because of our love for others and not just those of our Christian family. Then comes the attributes that we need working on the inside of us, still very important though. These in a great way, influence the way we practice the first set of behaviors also. For in our being humble, gentle and patient, we'll have a greater level of compassion and kindness towards our fellow man.

   Here in lies the reason for the LORD's laying these verses on my heart. Our calling as Christians is to primarily to focus on others and not ourselves. Which isn't quite what you seem to see these days. We tend to see churches that have an inward focus. Focusing more on their own intentions and operations then on those outside. Now you do see a good bit of outreach going on in some churches, but there does seem to still be a focus on themselves. What do I mean here? When a good number of these do outreach, they tend to focus on getting the people they reach, to attend their own church, and not having the focus on these peoples general salvation. This is part of what is wrong within the church today, they've become prideful and worldly and taken on the ways of the world. They're coveting after the numbers and the money. Ways that are far from those that are supposed to be exhibited by the church.

   To center one's focus on oneself, keeps you from being able to reach out with empty hands to help others. It's kind of hard to hug a person, if your arms are wrapped around yourself already. Kind of like when we pray to GOD for blessings, but we refuse to release the things of the world that we already have in our grasp, so we can receive those blessings. Now these three sayings may be over stressing our need to release ourselves and focus on the needs of others, but there truly seems to be a major problem with this. In the individual and in the corporate senses. The pride of the flesh has grown into a major problem within our faith. Almost everyone we speak with seems to focus their practice of Christianity around themselves. I see the prophets and apostles out there constantly acclaiming their understandings and knowledge over that of what is written in scripture and this, constantly! There are so few that truly relate scripture any more without placing numerous references on self, in some way, shape or form. I know if I were to listen to myself, I'd most likely fall into this group also.  It has to do with the fact that over the last century or so the church has been growing more and more worldly and taking on the ways of the world in their pursuit to stand out as a denomination and not just some branch of one.

   The original intents of these devotionals was to help others grow as I also grow. Well truly, I think today this latter part has surely been witnessed. For in writing this, it has caused me to turn my eyes inward, into myself and look upon my own practices in the faith. To draw me closer to the LORD, for I've had to pray and ask HIM to reveal my inner most self to me and the intents of my heart in my own relationship with HIM. This is what a devotional is about, it draws our eyes upon our relationship with the LORD, and helps lead us into a perfecting of it, so as we can better serve HIM daily. I pray that this days readings will bless you as they have me! I'd love to get some feed back from those that read these. Let me know if they're helping your walks or what, positive or negative. I truly do seek the truth. 


These last several days I've not been led to place a lot of extra reading on the table, if you miss it, let me know and I'll put it before the LORD. As with all things this is WHO makes the decisions, so that which is HIS will shall be done!!!

3.08.10_Mark 11:22_Faith

 Praise the LORD!!!

    Faith is a commonly used word in the Bible. But do we really understand all that it entails? I know there have been times in my personal walk with the LORD, that my faith has either weakened or I just wasn't sure that it really existed. Each new day brings with it the opportunity to grow in our faith and to draw off of it to grow in our personal walks.

 Mark 11:22

    "Then Jesus said to the disciples, “Have faith in God."

   In this verse we have JESUS telling us to have faith. HE then goes on to tell us just what can be done through our having it. To some extent we know that to have faith is to believe in GOD and HIS abilities to effect all things in existence. In Hebrews chapter 11, we are told what faith is defined as,"Now faith is the substancea of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.(Heb. 11:1)KJV) This coming from that which is known as the "Great Faith" chapter, for there is a listing of those that were noted in biblical history for their faith. We have Able, Enoch, Noah and Abraham to name just a few, for the list is extensive, though really incomplete. But the author knew that these were enough to properly get his point across to any reader. Which it was.

   All of the people, here listed believed in GOD to such an extent that they completely depended on HIM for their very existence. Not doubting in the least that HE would come through for them, just as HE had promised. Though at times they really didn't do things totally as GOD had commanded them too. For if you're well read in scripture, you will know that almost each one of these at one time or another had to face GOD's corrections within their lives. So faith, really doesn't depend on our being perfect in our following of GOD's leading, but it does mean that we must be willing to pay the price for doubting HIM in any way. This price we pay is usually in the form of HIS drawing away from us for a short time, to reinforce our understanding of by who's hand we receive all that we are and have. At other times, for those of us that repeat this behavior over and over, the methods get a little coarser, becoming chastisement, a correcting action that we're forced to under go if we want to come back into proper standing before HIM.

   We like those that populate the FAITH chapter, most likely have had numerous times that we didn't quite line up with what GOD was expecting from us. This doesn't mean that we don't have faith, it just means that it is weaker then it could be and possible far from what it should be. I've heard sermons on the varying types of faith listed in the Bible, those shown by the differing great people of GOD. They all had different names for each level or type of faith. Yet truly, what I gathered from all of these, was that it is simple faith, that is the basis for all of them. For no matter how great the faith of any person is, it starts out as that simple faith, the faith of a child is the perfect example. When a child is told by their parent that something was going to happen in their favor, they simply believe that it will happen. No two ways about it, what they were told is as good as done for them.

   When we are going about our daily wanderings of life, we often find ourselves in need and we begin to pray for GOD to meet these needs. The problem is though, that once we've prayed, we seem to forget just who it is that we prayed to and begin to doubt that we will ever see these prayers met. Especially if the answers seem slow in coming! This is the complete opposite of simple faith, and  truly it isn't faith at all. Remember that simple child like faith, that when they were promised something would happen they believed it, and knew that it would happen. This is that which we're missing in this case, simple faith. You know that GOD has promised to heal you of your sicknesses(1 Peter 2:24). You know that HE has promised to provide all of your needs(Matt. 6:28-34). You even know that HE has made plans for your life and HE is going to fulfill them to the letter(Jere. 29:11)NIV)

   So why then do we doubt HIM and HIS being able to fulfill all HIS promises? Most likely for the fact that we've not truly grasped the full nature of GOD in our minds. We've down sized HIM into something that we fit in on Sundays and maybe Wednesdays. We like the Israelite nation on their travel around the desert for forty years, are carrying GOD around in a box, to be used when we need HIM. I really hate to tell you, but the GOD that died for our worthless souls upon the cross of Calvary, is far greater then anything we could ever imagine. When we begin to waver in our faith, we truly need to step back a little and truly think about our perception of GOD and all HE is and can do. This is one of the greatest reason for reading the Bible, it reveals to us not only GOD and HIS great works, but also the fact of HIS humanity. For HE is so awesome that HE took on the form of a simple created being, that HE created from the dirt. Lived life as we do, yet without sinning. Paid the price for our breaking laws that HE had made in the first place, by taking our place upon the cross. Was buried in a cave, only to rise to life again on the third day. Then ascended into heaven, where he continue to make intercession for us. Now if this isn't one we can have simple child like faith in, I don't know what to say. But for me and my house, we will have faith and believe all that HE has promised, for I know HE can do more then I can even begin to imagine!!!

05-10-10_Phil. 4:11,12_Contentment (re post)

Praise the LORD!!!

   ***This is a re post, and a few things have been changed and enlisted in parenthesis as to allow for the original thought to remain intact and current changes to be brought to light(I didn't want anyone to think it was 45 degrees in south Texas in May:))) .)*** 

   It is a beautiful day here in south Texas. Our high temp. for the day has been 45(89) degrees. Believe me, I'd love to see that doubled, because the cold really gets to me since I'm becoming 'ancient.':) Though I'm not really that old, 54(55), I've had friends tell me that I had JESUS sign my yearbook and HE was an under classman. Got to love friends though, they mean it in a loving manor.

   Philippians 4:11,12
      "I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want."

   I am being blessed to be hosted by a awesome Christian couple. They have provided my needs for the last four(six) plus months and not mentioned anything about payment. This isn't an older couple either, mid thirties, with a son just off to collage. I've been growing weary of being a burden to them and have been praying for the LORD to provide the means for me to get into a place of my own. This morning in devotional time HE laid this one me.

   We are to be content in all our circumstances, no matter what they are. Doing our best to constantly be about our work for the KINGDOM of GOD. Whether it is living in a nice house or homeless, we should count it all as a blessing and continue to be about HIS works for us. Many times we allow our current surroundings to dictate our moods. Whether we're happy or sad being dependent upon how our life is currently going. This is wrong in many ways for the Christian and one of the hardest practices to overcome.

   Many times I've heard someone make the statement "that I don't pray for myself, because GOD has better things to spend HIS time on." Talk about having a small GOD! At other times its been the complete opposite, where their prayers are nothing but about themselves and all that they need GOD to do for them. Two great extremes and neither one even close to the 'secret' that Paul was talking about here. Now I've got to say, my GOD is definitely not to small to handle my minor(or major) problems. For HE is the one that created the universes and still has enough time to care about a single sparrow falling to the ground. My prayers are also far from being centered on my own being and all of those things that I personally would like to have. Those that know me can attest to this. I spend a great amount of my time in prayer for others and professing the greatness of our creator and HIS great love for all of mankind.

   Why then has HE impressed me to study and write this. Because, I was forgetting that HE is totally in control and that every second of my day is formed by HIM. HE has set all things into motion and controls the opening and closing of every single door and pathway in the universe. These happenings are just as HE wills them to be and not one minute occurrence is out of place. If I were to be living in another house, eating different food or whatever the difference may be. It would be just as HE wills it and not any different. I must admit, GOD does have a way of humbling a person at times, but I love it, for I always have grown closer to HIM after wards!

   We all have problems in our lives, whether rich or poor, we have problems that draws our attention towards them. It is how we allow them to control our reactions to them, that is the difference. The 'secret' Paul spoke about here is simple, so simple we tend to completely over look it. GOD is in total control of all things!!! It doesn't matter what it is either. Good, bad, in need, having an abundance, single, married and with grandchildren or childless, not one of these things is not in GOD's control. Even the current state of affairs around the world, terrorism, piracy, earthquakes and volcanoes, starvation and plaques. They are all under HIS control and not even the littlest of details are not known completely by HIM.

   So as you finish reading this, I'd like you to ask yourself, "Am I content," and/or, "should I be?" If you aren't, search out the reasons behind it and make the alterations needed to change it. For it will make a huge difference within your life and relationship with JESUS. Possibly making such a great difference within your life, that one day in the future you will look back and wonder, "why had I never seen this before?"

04-25-10_1 John 3:11, Gen. 4:8,9_Love one another (a re post)

*** Due to working long hours, I've not had the time to put out a posting for today and this one for tomorrow will have to be a re post. If I had the time to write them and do honor to the LORD in doing so, I would, but praise the LORD I've got to have money to operate the ministry so work takes precedence.***

       
 Praise the LORD!!!

   Oh, it feels good to be back about the LORD's work for me. I've done a lot to "try" and make the computer function better! It's all in the LORD's hands, as usual, and we'll just have to wait and see!!! Today we have two sections of scripture to work with:

   1 John 3: 11
      "This is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another."

   Gen. 4: 8, 9  (please read verses 1-9 also)
      "Now Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let's go out to the field." And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him. Then the LORD said to Cain, "Where is your brother Abel?" "I don't know," he replied. "Am I my brother's keeper?"

   Now in the first verse, we're told that we are to love our brothers(and sisters), this doesn't mean just our blood relatives, but the whole body of the Church. In this I mean all those that call on the name of JESUS as personal LORD and SAVIOR. This was a command given by JESUS HIMSELF, and by doing this the world will know we represent CHRIST as HIS disciples. Lately, I have seen a whole lot of hatred being thrown around by those that call JESUS LORD! People cutting others to the quick, right out in the open on the internet. Not the taking them aside in private and in a loving manor showing them their wrongs, but posting (for all to see) what they believe is right and the other person's wrongs.

   In all rights what they are doing brings us to our second verse for today. They're taking their brothers out into the fields of the world and slaying them! They might as well step in front of a TV camera and slice their throats (sorry for being so graphic). Is this loving a fellow Christian in the manor set forth for us? I'd say not. We are our brothers keepers and should rightfully act always in a manor showing love and edification, to them. Not one of blatant disregard and hatred. Can anyone with a true respect for JESUS treat another Christian in such a manor? I'd say not! To treat a brother or sister in CHRIST in this way is totally outside of anything that even closely resembles being CHRIST-like.

   Not only are these dishonoring another Christian, but they're showing utter disregard for our SAVIOR. We are told that when we have disagreements, over words and doctrine (here I'm not talking about false teachings), to take the brother aside and confront them in private and to do such, in a loving and compassionate way. All these people are succeeding to do is tearing down the Christian faith, making a mockery of it and making themselves look so much wiser and more learned (their pride)in their own eyes). Not in my eyes or those of any devote believer. For those of us that truly have given our lives over to JESUS, crucifying our flesh upon the cross and humbling ourselves before HIM, would do things in a whole different way.

   Yes, I am telling others that they are wrong in their treatment of another Christian, but I'm doing it on a site that is not out in the open for the world to see. For there are very few of the world that will come here to read my devotionals and those that do, their hearts are being worked by the HOLY SPIRIT and have a reason for being here. Those of you that read this, I ask you, that if you know those that have been falling prey to this way of the adversary, for that is what it is, enlist them to come here and read that which the LORD has given me this day. They just may be one of those that the LORD has had me write this for. Then again since nothing happens without the LORD's condoning it, I'd say that they are one of them!!!

(Dissension and hypocrisy are two of the major distractions that keep people from going to church or ever thinking about joining one, or even becoming a Christian! Isn't it about time we began acting like the name we claim as ours, Christian (CHRIST-like???)
